📚 General advice
- Read over the job description. To get ready for your interview, read through the job description and make sure you know what is expected of the role.
- Everyone loves a candidate who does their homework. Do some research on who you'll be meeting (we'll give you names ahead of time), and do some reading on Landeed as a company, business, and product. You should know what our mission and values are and be able to speak to them.
- We move fast. The faster you move the faster we move. It is not unusual for us to go from first interview to final offer in less than 5 days. Typically, we try to keep the first call to final offer less than one week. However, if we provide an offer letter it is only valid for 24 hours so be prepared with your decision. Schedule fast and be decisive.
- Integrity. In the event the offer letter is provided to you, it is only after discussing verbally. If it is signed, the candidate should hold themselves to high standards. In the event, we find it is shopped, signed and later candidates decides not to join, we will blacklist the candidate. We operate in an industry with low trust levels and if we cannot trust one another’s word, our journey is not starting on great foot. Startups are a small world and founders speak to another just like anyone else.
- Listen carefully. If you don't fully understand the question, please ask. You can ask the interviewer to clarify or rephrase their question. Also, feel free to tell your interviewer you need a moment to collect your thoughts.
- Be concise. Communication is important in all of our roles here. ****We recommend being thorough but concise. In general, we'd like to hear about fewer things but in more detail. We want to hear about the details of the challenges you've encountered and what exactly you did. Avoid giving "whirlwind tours" that touch on a lot of areas but only superficially or talking about your team or company in a way that makes it hard to ascertain your personal contribution. It's helpful for us to hear about outcomes and impact and not just inputs. If you’re good at your job, you should be able to describe what you do to a 10-year old in one or two sentences.
- Come with questions. This is your chance to interview us as well. We value curiosity and want to answer your questions.
- Performance-oriented. There is no substitute to performance. We can like you as an individual, you might be well rounded and have great strategies. However, if you cannot build, ship and meet deadlines, Landeed will be very tough. Performance is central to everything at Landeed.
